The Boy's & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington of Northwestern Branches in conjunction with Golf Exposure, Inc. presents the 1st Annual Outback Steakhouse Junior Golf Classic. This event is to commemorate and benefit the Outback Steakhouse Junior Golf Program at the Boy's & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington Branches.
This creative collaboration of youth advocates will expose club members to the game of golf and the inherent leadership skills.
THE PROGRAM
Youth will participate in the game physically and interactively for up to four hours a week. Youth are introduced to the game, via Golf Exposure programming, demonstrations and clinics. Interested members will then join a golf program at the club. The goal is to create a competitive golf team that will facilitate neighboring high school programs. One of our goals is to position our members to compete for the many golf collegiate scholarships.
The tournament will consist of juniors from Montgomery, Prince George's Counties and Washington D.C. Public Schools. This 18-hole medal play golf tournament will be held at the Marlton Golf Course on June 21, 2004. A foursome of juniors only will compete through the first holes. The Back 9 will include a twosome or threesome of juniors and one or two adult celebrity/sponsors.
The title sponsor, Outback Steakhouse will cater the lunch and dinner. The "Steak and Steak" banquet will be held after the tournament.
