According to the National Golf Foundation, less than 2 percent of children age 12-17 are exposed to golf each year, and only 15 percent of those come from families earning under $30,000 annually.
The average age of a beginning golfer is nearly 30, and of these golfers 3% are Black and 2% are
hispanic.
Golf Exposure’(GX) programs, including the Scholastic Golf Academy are dedicated to the development of youth. GX exposes children to the etiquette and to the game of golf. GX believes that through academic achievement, mentoring and focused strategies, youth become contributing members of society.
GX recognizes that through golf instruction, GX introduces and reinforces life skills that include preparation, consistency, and self-discipline.
