The SGA Summer Camp
The SGA Summer Camp is a week-long, day camp that operates during the summer months presently, at the nine-hole golf course at Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda, Md. Completed in 1926, the Prep course is hilly with small greens, and ideally suited for novice players.
The camp provides youth with constructive leisure-time activities, along with golf educational sessions and instructional stations, clinics and various competitions. Program sessions are designed to help youth grow socially and develop their abilities in the game of golf.
Campers receive at least 2 hours per day of small group instruction at various practice areas where they work on their approach shots and putting on the practice greens.
The daily lessons are supplemented with group discussions and video-taped clinics. Each camper receives personalized instruction on the grip, stance, swing and follow-through, in addition to instruction on safety, rules and etiquette of the game. Every afternoon, campers will play at least nine holes of golf in a foursome with a counselor.
This camp is for the student-athletes that want to excel on the links as well as in the classroom.
